ratedBuildR Shipping Policy

This Shipping Policy is governed by and incorporates the ratedBuildR Shop Agreement. ratedBuildR is pleased to offer a number of delivery options for your order. All shipments are FOB (Free on Board) our regional fabrication or distribution centers, meaning that ownership and risk of loss pass to you once the carrier picks up the order, unless otherwise specified.
- Delivery Methods
We offer several methods of delivery for orders placed on https://shop.ratedbuildr.com. In the absence of specific routing instructions from you, we will ship via the most appropriate and economical method.
- Local Delivery by DelivR: For customers within our designated local service areas, we may offer delivery via our own fleet of professional drivers (“DelivRs”). This service is designed to provide a higher level of care for our products. Delivery options, times, and fees for this service will be presented at checkout.
- Third-Party Carrier (LTL Freight): For larger orders outside our local delivery zones, shipments are performed by third-party Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) freight carriers. ratedBuildR reserves the right to choose the carrier that will best service your delivery point.
- ParcelService (e.g., UPS/FedEx): For smaller items that meet size and weight requirements, we may ship via standard parcel carriers.
- Important Conditions & Recommendations
Due to the many variables in shipping, we strongly recommend that you do not schedule your installer or contractor until after you have received and thoroughly inspected your complete order. Manufacturing times, weather, carrier delays, and the need to replace damaged items are just some of the instances that may delay your order. ratedBuildR cannot be held liable for any labor costs, scheduling conflicts, or project delays due to a shipment’s arrival time. All provided delivery dates are estimates and cannot be guaranteed.
- Lead Times & Handling Charges
For in-stock products, most orders shipped via third-party carrier arrive within 7 to 14 business days. You will receive an email notification when your order has been picked up by the carrier. Due to the weight and fragile nature of our products, we do not offer expedited shipping options. A handling charge may be added to account for the cost of packing and preparing orders for shipment.
- The Delivery Process
Our third-party carriers will contact you to arrange your delivery. It is your responsibility to be available to accept the delivery at the scheduled time.
- Standard Delivery is CURBSIDE: This means the product will be delivered to the curb at the end of your driveway. This service does not include moving the product into your home, garage, or job site.
- Customer Responsibility: You are responsible for moving the product from the curb to a secure and properly climatized location in a timely fashion. Once the delivery is made, you are responsible for protecting the product from weather and theft.
- Accessibility: If your delivery destination has restrictions (e.g., apartment complex, narrow road, no turnaround for a large truck), you must contact our Customer Care team at Office@ratedBuildR.com within 24 hours of placing your order. Failure to do so may result in additional shipping fees or delays for which you will be responsible.
- Shipment Inspection – CRITICAL
Upon receiving your shipment, you MUST do the following before the driver leaves:
- Count the Product: Verify that the number of boxes or items on the pallet matches your purchase receipt and the Bill of Lading (BOL).
- Inspect for Damage: Carefully inspect the exterior of the packaging and the product itself for any visible signs of damage (e.g., crushed corners, tears, broken pallets).
- Note Any Issues on the Delivery Receipt: If you see ANY damage or if any items are missing, you MUST make a detailed note of it on the Proof of Delivery (POD) / Bill of Lading (BOL) receipt provided by the driver. Be specific (e.g., “one box crushed on corner,” “glass panel appears cracked,” “missing one box”). Writing “Subject to Inspection” is not sufficient. If the driver is unwilling or unable to wait for you to complete a thorough inspection, you must still note on the delivery receipt: “Possible concealed damage; driver would not wait for inspection.” This is necessary to protect your ability to file a claim later.
- Take Photos: Take photos of any visible damage to the packaging and product before unpacking.
Failure to note damage or shortages on the Proof of Delivery receipt at the time of delivery will be considered an acceptance of the product in good condition and will make it impossible to file a freight claim. Please see our [Damages Policy] for the next steps.
- Return Shipments & Refused Deliveries DO NOT REFUSE ANY SHIPMENT, EVEN IF DAMAGE IS SUSPECTED.
If a shipment is refused for any reason other than you receiving the wrong order entirely, you will be solely responsible for all outgoing and return shipping costs, storage fees, and any other reconsignment charges incurred. These costs will be deducted from your refund.
- Freight Allowance Policy
ratedBuildR may, in its sole discretion, offer a freight allowance on qualifying orders. To qualify for a freight allowance, your order must meet the following conditions:
- The order must meet a minimum merchandise value in qualifying products, which will be specified on the Shop. Certain products may be exempt from qualification, including but not limited to custom fabricated items, clearance products, or items sold at special contract pricing.
- The order must ship at one time to a single delivery point in the 48 contiguous United States. Shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, or international destinations are ineligible.
- You may not specify a premium carrier (e.g., air freight). ratedBuildR reserves the right to choose the most economical carrier.
- Program Changes: ratedBuildR reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate this freight allowance program at any time without prior notice.
If your order qualifies and freight charges are included on your invoice, you may deduct these charges when submitting your payment, provided your payment is made within the stated terms of the invoice. Payments made after the due date are not eligible for the freight allowance.
- Truckload Orders
